Religare Health Insurance is in talks with the central and state governments to provide solutions in government-sponsored health schemes targeting below poverty line people.
"We plan to work with the central government and state governments to provide services in this segment. The states have their own heath schemes for BPL. So, we will hold negotiations," company managing director and CEO Anuj Gulati said here today.
The government segment accounts for close to 19 per cent the country¿s Rs 15,000 crore health insurance business, he said.
Religare, which started its operation in the health insurance sector this year, would focus on retail as well as corporate segments.
The insurer is looking to launch two products soon - one in retail health insurance and another in group heath insurance and is awaiting IRDA approval, Gulati said.
It has also plans to enter travel insurance, critical illness, personal accident and disease specific products segment and would launch the products in a phased manner in the next few quarters.
"We would like to have specific products on diabetes and maternity in a phased manner," he said. The company was hopeful of launching products in travel insurance by March next year, he added.
