  • Residents of MIG Colony, Phase-2 Urban Estate, Dugri, have expressed resentment that Municipal Corporation has wrongly issued exorbitant water bills ranging between Rs 12,000-14,000 to each resident of the colony.

According to the residents, their flats had been built on area less than 100 square yard while government has waived off water and sewer bills for houses having an area of 125 square yard and less than that.

Kuldeep Singh Kreer, general secretary of the society, said, “We have already moved the High Court because MC is issuing us bills since long and every time we are giving this plea which is not being accepted. Now again they have sent fresh bills along with arrears which is not justified.”

“Moreover when the case is in court, no bills can be issued to us. So the MC should take these bills back,” he said.
