Restoration of power line will take another month: MSEDCL officials

MSEDCL officials point out that it will take another month to complete the works of 400 KV Chandrapur-Parli double circuit line.

When contacted MSEDCL officials said that a landslide on November 5 had damaged the Chandrapur-Parli high voltage power supply line,disrupting power supply to Marathwada and western Maharashtra. With restoration work undertaken on warfooting,one circuit was temporarily restored on Tuesday while work of erection of damaged towers is still underway.

Power Minister Ajit Pawar had visited the site recently and directed the officials to complete the work by November 30. However,highly placed officials with MSEDCL said that it would take another month for completion of the work.

There is still a shortage of 1200 MW from this line,officials said and pointed out that loadshedding was increased by half an hour in Pune,Nanded,Kolhapur,Aurangabad,Kolhapur and other cities. Emergency loadshedding had to be undertaken as a result of the this. The loadshedding will continue for some time till the line is restored.
