The ANAND Agriculture University (AAU) has received orders from the Revenue department regarding the allotment of 487.5 acres of land in Vadodara,Kheda and Anand districts. The land will be allotted to the university in lieu of the land it had given for the Nano project nearly five days ago.
The AAU had demanded seven portions of land in Anand,Vadodara and Kheda districts,which were fit for agriculture as well as AAU research.
AAU Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Prof M C Varshenya said: The Revenue Department has given orders to all the three collectors from Vadodara,Kheda and Anand districts.
Professor Varshenya,however,refused to further comment on the issue. There are nearly seven sites where the state government has allotted land to AAU,said AAU authorities.
Around 31 hectares of land has been allotted to AAU at Khambholaj in Anand district and 40 hectares at Nainpur in Mehemdabad taluka in Kheda district. Besides,20 hectares of land has been allotted in Ram-na-Muvada,43 hectares in Minawad,20 hectares in Sansoli,20 hectares in Vaso and 21 hectares in Jabugam of Kheda district, said AAU officials.
There is also a piece of land allotted in Vadodara district,according to AAU authorities.
Mohammad Shid,district collector,Kheda,said: A copy of the Revenue department orders has already been sent to the AAU.”
P P Patel,Kheda Resident District Collector (RDC),said: A facsimile of state Revenue department orders was given to Kheda district nearly five days ago. There are five areas where the land will be allotted for AAU research.
District collectors from Anand and Vadodara were not available for comment.
