  • Police have picked up a state Revenue department official for supplying slain Jaish militant, Saifullah Qari, with a voter identity card. The arrest was made in Thanamandi on Thursday.

Qari, the Ayodhya attack mastermind, was killed in a joint operation by J-K Police and Delhi Police in August this year. The official has been identified as Ghulam Nabi Khan, a girdawar and resident of Allal in Thanamandi area. Sources said Khan had helped Qari and his accomplice, Zaffar Iqbal Soodan alias Umer, procure voter identity cards under fake names. The cards were procured from Rajouri district.
