Review: Bullet to the Head

This much stands proved: that a film can be made on biceps alone, and that Sly still packs an impressive stack.

Should you doubt the power of those biceps -- chances are you can't -- there is an opponent, some kind of an African warlord on the run, and a conspiracy, involving payoffs to a Congressman to raze some ghettoes for condos.

You can be pardoned for not caring for much of that, for neither does the film. Taking its title very, very seriously, its bad guy Jimmy Bobo (Stallone) shoots before he opens his mouth and doesn't bother where all and whom all he hits. His sidekick is a Korean-origin Washington DC cop played by Sung Kang, a greenhorn who finds himself frequently falling back on those aforementioned biceps.

This is particularly true when the warlord wields his prize weapon, a guy called Keegan (Jason Momoa) who doesn't just have a six-pack on his side but six-feet plus height and little patience for small talk.

Kang's Taylor Kwan sometimes wields his BlackBerry to impressively dig out information from an unnanmed central command on the bad guys, but in the bloody and almost breathless battle to stop the warlord, Bobo's muscles win -- everytime.

It perhaps help then that the "proof" is lying around in a flash drive with neatly titled folders.
