Rewind and Play

Mahendroo says that Suman,who shot to fame with the show,will be acting for the first time with his son Adhyayan,who is playing the on-screen son. “The movie will be a romantic comedy,revolving around the Diwan family,” says Mahendroo who has also co-produced Rang Raisya.

While Suman,the Congress candidate for Patna Saheb,is flinging allegations against Lalu Yadav,the latest being that the latter has violated rules to get his son Tej Pratap play in IPL 2,and has little time for laughs,Adhyayan says he plays a boy who wants to join the army. “Some families are reluctant to let the kids join the armed forces. The film addresses this issue and later it evolves into a love story,” says Adhyayan,who adds that family drama and humour will form the backbone of the film as well.

Mahendroo isn’t taking any chances with his return to film direction after 10 years. The budget is around Rs 30 crore and the heroine opposite Adhyayan will be chosen through a reality show. While the concept for the reality show is ready,the channel that will air it has yet to be finalised. “Anandji is seriously considering Sony since they’re the ones who originally hosted Dekh Bhai Dekh,but we can’t say anything yet,” says Adhyayan.

The project is likely to go on the floors this June.
