Rice basmati prices weaken on sluggish demand

Rice basmati prices weakened by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today.

Rice basmati prices weakened by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today due to sluggish demand against increased supplies from producing belts.

However,other grains traded in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels,traders said.

In the national capital,rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,900-6,000 and Rs 5,200-5,900 per quintal,respectively.

The following are today’s quotations per quintal: Wheat MP (deshi) 2,000-2,200,Wheat dara (for mills)1,550-1,560,Chakki atta (delivery) 1,565-1,570,Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 200,Shakti bhog (10 kg) 200,Roller flour mill 840-860 (50 kg),Maida 950-970 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,000-1,050 (50kg).
