Right on track

It’s been luck all the way for this young gal as she never had plans of getting into the industry. One day she was playing at the inter-state hockey championships,the next day she was in front of the camera. “Many girls grow up with dreams of becoming an actress,I was never like that. I was completely into hockey and I wanted to become a journalist. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m the one answering the questions today,” she laughs before she heads for the motorbike race.

Life has been quite a whirlwind after the success of Chak De! and it took a while for Rawat to realise she actually loved acting. She then quickly packed her bags and moved to Mumbai from her hometown Dehra Dun and was immediately inundated with film,TV and ad offers. “I didn’t want to do a TV serial because it would mean so much time shooting and I would have to stay in the city all the time. I love travelling and being part of films allows me to do that,” she pants after winning the exhausting bike race. Rawat then went on to be part of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion and will soon be seen playing a major role in Luck by Soham Shah.

“When I was shooting for Luck in South Africa,we had a scene when we all had to shoot targets with a gun. Training for that was the most fun,” she says with a sudden jump and obviously rushes for the shooting game. “We had such a great time on the sets of Luck,I often forgot this was work. The entire team had bonded so well that none of us wanted the shoot to ever end,” she laughs and shoots the bad guys right on target. “I love holding the gun,looks like I have a hidden violent streak,” she giggles.

I decide to move away and let the girl concentrate on shooting those bad guys.
