As the polls inch closer, denizens set their criteria for voting. While a few feel its the candidate, who matters, others feel that parties should be kept in mind while casting vote.

I am a BJP supporter so for me the only criterion is the party. I must confess that the candidate does not matter much for me. Its the party and the policy that drives me more than the candidate himself. In fact it is not just my case many in my family follow the same. I think its justified to some extent as when it comes to general elections we want a leader who can lead us the right way and that leader is our prime minister. He and his party is what matters more than individual candidates.

I vote for an individual candidate. It is him who will be responsible for the progressive work in our constituency. So for me it is the constituency and the independent candidate that matters more than anything else.

As far as general elections are concerned it is the party that matters more. When it is general election our main focus is on prospective candidates for the post of the prime minister. It is that which matters more. In assembly elections also our focus is on the candidates for the post of chief minister but then we also have our own concerns for individual candidates,as they would be responsible for the progress of our area.

For me it is the candidate who matters more than the party as a whole. I believe it is the progress of the constituency that is more important; progress of the country will eventually follow. If a wrong candidate is chosen from a constituency it will distort the future of the whole constituency.
