Rukbanur Rehman, the brother of deceased graphics designer Rizwanur Rehman who allegedly committed suicide because of pressure from his wealthy in-laws and Kolkata police officers, filed an FIR at Beniapukur police station on Saturday alleging that there was an attempt on his life after a vehicle hit the auto-rickshaw in which he was travelling.

The incident occurred near the seven-point crossing at Park Circus. After being hit by a Maruti car from behind, the auto overturned. Rukbanur’s legs were injured in the incident.

“After the car hit the auto, the auto overturned. The driver did not stop and drove away from the spot. Because of the attitude of the driver, I got suspicious and filed a complaint with the police,” Rukbanur said.

He told The Indian Express the police had come to his residence to inquire about the incident. “I told the police that I was not in a situation to note down the number,” he said.
