The Bihar duo might soon be shown the door out of UPA.

The RJD and LJP, which fought elections against Congress, were kept out of the first meeting of the UPA after the polls, perhaps an indication that they may not find a place in the government.

"The issue of RJD and LJP did not come up at the UPA meeting," AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters to a volley of questions on the issue.

Dwivedi asserted that the first meeting of the UPA was only of the pre-poll alliance partners.

While the LJP led by Ram Vilas Paswan failed to open its account in the Lok Sabha polls, Lalu Prasad's RJD managed to win only 4 of the 40 seats seats in its stronghold of Bihar.

RJD and LJP had entered into an alliance in Bihar and had contested the elections against the Congress. RJD was the single largest party after Congress in the last government with 27 MPs while the LJP had four members in the Lok Sabha.

Both the parties had consistently maintained during the campaign that even though they were fighting the elections separately, they will support the UPA.

Lalu, Paswan were used and thrown out by UPABy: v. Subramanyam | 29-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward Even though Lalu, Paswan had said they are with UPA before elections , they were ditched by shrewd and cunning UPA govt after elections. UPA is full of cunning and shrewd maniacs , who can't be trusted at all.Laluji , and Paswan Ji should concentrate more on the Bihar Development and play constructive opposition to help Bihar's development
Treat dirt like dirtBy: Hero Vaz | 20-May-2009 Reply | Forward The rotten RJD and LJP have been shown their place. Scum does not have to have a hand in governance.
RJD, LJP kept out of UPA's first meetingBy: PC Xavier | 20-May-2009 Reply | Forward Even before victory was anywhere near sight, the arrogant statements being churned out every day before polling by by leaders like Modi, Amar Singh, Jaya, Maya, Advani, Laloo etc were highly deplorable. Every one of these leaders had to eat the humble pie and face their waterloo in the hustings. It also shows that God is with the humble who seek fruits of their labour. When one comes before the Lord in prayer, one has to be child-like and innocent to get answers for the prayers. The election results are defeat of the hypocrites whose aim is to give lip service to the poor and and deprive them of their rightful share in the national wealth.
manmohan sans soniaBy: u s murthy | 20-May-2009 Reply | Forward i welcome election results of 2009 and it helps congress consolidate positions to achieve pointed items of manifesto without dependence of left and joker parties like RJD .public is releived of left and RJD joining govt. .The next is whether manmohan singh who is likely to become king will be able to give image and impression to the world that he is independent of sonia in decision making and soniaji confines to role of presidentship of the party and her role should be to improve the image of the party in choosing persons of integrity of the persons to occupy positions at the helm of affairs and commanding respect from the society by keeping persons at bay with criminal records and corruption charges. This is important to maintain credibility and to command respect among the indian public. This IS just like cleaning ganga and the party should clean itself and this is the right oppurtunity to do so.It should start with rajasekhar reddy who is highly corrupt and disliked.
Right Step.By: Aniyan | 20-May-2009 Reply | Forward Excellent ! The jokers of politics and opportunists, if kept away, is better for the image. If Congress wants to improve its position in Bihar, UP and Maharashtra, it should be keep RJD, LJP, SP and NCP away.
