Rlys ask passengers not to carry inflammable objects

Ahead of Diwali, the Railways has asked passengers not to carry inflammable objects in trains, and also prevent co-passengers from carrying any such object. "In case any passenger notices another carrying crackers or any other inflammable object they should contact authorities by calling on 900414444," an official release stated. Travelling in trains with explosives and inflammable objects like crackers, gas cylinder, acid, petrol, kerosene, dry grass/leaves, stove, among others is not permitted. Carrying such inflammable objects on the trains is a punishable offence under Section 164 of the Railway Act, 1989 where the offender may get a jail term up to three years, or a fine of Rs 1,000 or both under Section 165 of the Railway Act.
