Robert Vadra took what appeared to be a contemptuous dig at Arvind Kejriwal and his team on Monday, updating his Facebook status to Mango people in banana republic,an apparent reference to the aam aadmi for whom the activist claims to be fighting. As Kejriwals India Against Corruption (IAC) reacted sharply,Vadra shut down the account. The businessman son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi had on Sunday described the allegations made by Kejriwal and lawyer Prashant Bhushan on Friday about his property deals with real estate giant DLF as manufactured lies intended to gather cheap publicity. Ever since its metamorphosis into a political party, the IAC has portrayed the aam aadmi as its mascot, complete with Gandhi topis saying I am aam aadmi. On Monday,Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in response to Vadras comment: Evidence pouring in from mango men from across the country. Mango men wud (would) prove to be nemesis for the powerful. Kejriwal also promised more revelations on Tuesday. DLF granted favors to Sh Robert Vadra. What favors did Haryana Govt grant DLF? How is DLF reply a bunch of lies? Will speak tomo (tomorrow) at 5pm, he tweeted. In a statement issued on Saturday,DLF had denied having received any land from the governments of Haryana,Delhi or Rajasthan, and rejected IACs insinuations of sweetheart deals with Vadra as quid pro quo for favours. IACs Kumar Vishwas advised Vadra to ask his mother-in-law about the banana republic of India. Calling it a banana republic is an insult to the country. He should ask Sonia Gandhi the reasons. because she is the one who has been running it. And if he feels this is not a good enough country or that people lack a sense of humour here,he is free to leave, Vishwas said. One of Vadras earlier status messages had said people tended to take everything too seriously, and did not seem to have a sense of humour.
