Think bikes and an instant vision of a Harley Davidson, with its distinctive roar, comes to mind. The worlds largest motorcycle maker, which made its foray into the Indian market in 2010,is now promoting rock music. In a four month-long festival, that began last week,Harley has planned music performances around town. If Half Step Down and Thermal and a Quarter played at F Bar last week,in the grand finale in October,Parikrama,Slit,Half Step Down and Circus, will entertain bikers and music aficionados at Talkatora stadium in Delhi.
Music forms an integral part of the Harley Davidson culture and we wanted to start something in India to amalgamate both, said Sanjay Tripathi, marketing director of Harley Davidson,India,as he received bikers at the F Bar. Sporting their biking gear, several fans turned up on their Harleys, and the parking lot, consequently, had several of them lined-up,from Sportster Forty Eight to Dyna FXDB Street Bob and FLHR Road King. Tripathi is hoping for a similar response in Bangalore and Hyderabad, where the festival will travel in the coming months.
