Rohtang Pass opens to traffic

Rohtang Pass,the lifeline between Kullu and Lahaul valley,is ready for public use after a massive snow clearing operation launched by the Border Road Task Force (BRTF).

Commander S K Doon of 38 BRTF said the pass was cleared in a record time this year. “Last year,the pass was reopened on May 8,but this year due to proper planning and induction of some state-of-the art machinery,we could open it early,” he added. Huge snow clearance operation was also been carried out to clear the Sharchu-Baralacla Pass,added Doon.
