  • If you are a cop, it is generally a notion that you have less time for your family. But exceptions are not hard to find in the city.

SSP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill manages to take out time for his family and watch the latest movie, after ensuring safety of the city's 20-lakh odd populace.

Recently, SSP Gill managed to steal a couple of hours out of his busy schedule and sneaked into a multiplex for a night show along with his wife, despite his pre-occupation with cases or various kinds of crime in the day or even at odd hours at night.

"I am not a movie buff but I do watch movies on and off in theatres. The idea is to spend time with my family because at the end of the day there is hardly any time left for them usually," said the SSP, who is admired for his handsome looks and polite speech.

Contrary to the notion that he is always on the trail of criminals, the SSP talks about the movie he recently caught. "I went for a late night show of Love Aaj Kal with my wife. I liked the movie a lot, especially the way love existed in the past and how people love these days," remarks the SSP who had first studied to be a doctor but after completing his MBBS from Government Medical College, Amritsar, his inclination made him appear for the Union Public Service Commission examination in 2003 and joined the Indian Police Service.
