Delhi-based debutant actor Ishan Manhas,who was in town recently,talks about his upcoming film Aashiqui.in and his road to Bollywood
Probably the kind of launch pads that most actors these days are used to are the usual run-of-the-mill romcoms. And so,aiming to provide a refreshing change from the same is debutant actor Ishan Manhas’ film Aashiqui.in. Manhas,who was in town for the promotion of the film says that the film is one that college goers and younger audiences will relate to instantly given the fact that it revolves around the lives of students.
Tinsel town is one of the few places that appreciates a combination of both talent along with acting. In fact every day scores of people come here to become actors. I think I have been lucky enough to see my dream come true, says Manhas,about his Bollywood beginnings. The film which stars newcomer Ankita has been directed by Sankhdeep and produced by Amit Chheda. The plot line of the film revolves around Cyrus played by Manhas,who is a national college level swimmer. While his father wants him to continue swimming he wishes to become a writer. April played by Ankita provides the romantic interest in his life.
Manhas,who hails from Delhi,and is a pass-out from Kishore Namit Kapoors acting institute,says that he fit into the role easily as he himself used to be a swimming buff in his college days. It was easy performing the role of Cyrus who is a swimming champion as I identified with the role instantly. The rest also flowed in easily as acting was something that came to me naturally, he quips.
Unable to identify with the regular jarred heaviness associated with melodrama in acting Manhas feels that for a movie to become successful,various factors go into it. He says,The cast,the crew,the script and the way the movie is handled – all these elements help make a good film. In fact,Bollywood is one such platform that helps actors and technicians,to learn and understand what to overlook.
