Still clueless about the motive behind the murder of an RPF head constable by another about two weeks ago, the Nirmal Nagar police have decided to send a police team to the native places of both the accused and the victim.
Shivram Sharma (45), a head constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), had shot dead his colleague, head constable Uddal Singh (50), with his service rifle on June 28.
DCP (Zone 8) Nisar Tamboli said: “Going by their professional records and history, we have so far not found any history of animosity between the two that might have provoked Sharma to shoot Singh. Besides, Sharma is also not giving logical answers and is saying things that go beyond human reasoning. So, we have decided to send teams to Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Mathura in UP from where Sharma and Singh hail respectively and enquire with their families. It seems the families of the accused and the victim knew each other and talking to both the families might shed some light on the motive behind the murder.”
An official investigating the case said: “Though Sharma is claiming that he was ‘commanded by a supernatural force to kill Singh’, we suspect a financial dispute between the two as the motive and Sharma is trying to mislead us by giving such excuses about supernatural forces.”
The police have also sought the mobile phone records of Sharma as they suspect that he might have had some kind of contact with Singh’s family before he was shot.
