The Delhi Police has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for each of the 13 Indian Mujahideen men wanted for the September 13 serial blasts in the national capital. The list includes 10 men from Azamgarh district.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has intimated the UP Anti-Terror Squad about the declaration and has sought assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the youths.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, ATS, Rajiv Sabbarwal, said, “we are already on the job.”
Mohan Singh Bais, Assistant Commissioner of Police at the Delhi Police Headquarters, said: “The 10 militants hailing from Azamgarh are Ariz Khan alias Junaid (23) of Baz Bahadur locality, Shahjzad Ahmed alias Pappu (20) of Rehmani Manzil, Jalandhari, Sadar City; Mohammad Sajid alias Imam Saab alias Sajid Bada (22) of Sanjarpur; Mirza Sadab Begh (25) of Raja Sahab ka Qila, Sadar; Mohammad Khalid (25) of Sanjarpur; Dr Shahnawaj (28) of Sanjarpur; Hakim (23) of Rehmat Nagar; Asadullah Akhtar alias Aasadullah Khan (23) of Ghulami ka Pura; Salman (19) of Sanjarpur and Mohammad Khalid (25) of Sanjarpur.”
Three others on the list are Riyaz Batkal and Iqbal Batkal of Batkal village, Mangalore, Karnataka, and Amir Raza Khan of Kolkata.
Khan is stated as the chief of the IM in the list, the ACP said. The blasts, which took place at Gaffar market in Karol Bagh, Central Park in Connaught Palace, Barakh-amba Road and Greater Kailash, had claimed 26 lives and left 133 injured.
Three bombs each were later defused at Regal Cinema, Central Park and Children’s Park (India Gate).
