Ruckus at nightclub: two businessmen, four personal guards arrested

  • Two businessman and four private security guards were arrested from a recently opened nightclub at Samrat Hotel, by Chanakyapuri police on Friday night under.

    The police said the accused indulged in rowdy behaviour in the nighclub LAP (Lounge and Party), owned jointly by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and restaurateur AD Singh.

    The police reached the club following a call they received at 2.30 am on Saturday that somebody was misbehaving with a girl inside the club. However, when the police reached the spot they did not see any such thing.

    The police, however, took two businessman — Sahil Dhingra and Samir Thapar — into custody and charged them under Section 107/151 (preventive arrest).

    Dhingra’s four private armed security guards were also arrested. They have been identified as Harpal Singh, Vijay Singh Yadav, Bhagwan Singh and Jaiveer Singh.

    Delhi Police PRO Rajan Bhagat confirmed the arrests.

    The police are also checking the CCTV footage from the nightclub to check on the allegation of misbehaviour.

    Thapar is a resident of Aurangzeb Road and belongs to a well-known business family. Dhingra stays in a farmhouse in Chhattarpur.
