After a 10-year hiatus from the Indian circuit,Runa Laila,the iconic Bangladesh singer,is back with her latest album - Kala Sha Kala,a compilation of Punjabi wedding songs.Runa Laila started learning classical music at a very tender age and received vigorous training from Ustad Qader Khan and Ustad Habibiddin Khan. She made her first public debut as a singer at the age of six and cut her first album for a Pakistani film called Jugnu at a tender age of 12.Kala Sha Kala is a collection of Punjabi folk melodies sung by Runa Laila in her own inimitable style. Though this is her first solo album in India after over a decade,she has also sung in Music Todays album The Great Big Punjabi Wedding launched in October 2009. One & Only launched with recordingDr. Anuuj J. Saxenas Maverick Productions launched its second independent production,One & Only with a song recording on April 3. The song,a romantic ballad,has been penned by Javed Akhtar and sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal. The film marks the entry of Chirag Paswan who is paired opposite Kangna Ranaut. Two other leading ladies are also under finalisation. The film is written and directed by Tanveer Khan with music by Sajid-Wajid and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Album on nine poetsShringarika,containing poems of nine poets,Pramila Sharma,Sanjeev Nigam,Arvind Sharma Rahi,Rajeev Saraswat,Rajeshwar Uniyal,Kaleem Asar,Nandlal Yadav,Prem Hasija and Lochan Saksena,in their own voice,was inaugurated by Rajkumar Barjatya in Mumbai.Eminent personalities like Jalees Sharwani,Ibrahim Ashk,producer-director Dilip Gulati,Purushottam Bisawa,General Secretary of Western India Film Producers Association Prabhat Pandey,writer Rajinder Singh Aatish,lyricist Kapil Kumar,film music director Mahadev Mishra,and poet K. Shailendra graced the occasion. A Kavi Sammelan was also organised.
