Russia: 23 terror acts averted in 2010

Russia witnessed some 23 terrorist acts which were averted and over 250 bandits and their accomplices were detained from the beginning of this year,an official said.

“These figures resulted from the timely information from our foreign partners and joint search operations,” said Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov at the 9th meeting of the council of chiefs of security services and law enforcement agencies of the FSB foreign partner-countries that.

“The drafting and harmonisation of the legal basis makes integral part of a stronger international anti-terrorist coalition. The legal basis enables to set common approaches in the comprehension of terrorism and terrorist activities and to provide favourable conditions for an efficient solution to the problems in the struggle against this phenomenon in all world regions,” Bortnikov underlined.
