Russian suicide: Samples to forensic lab

Police have sent samples of the Russian flight attendant who committed suicide at Trident Hotel to Forensic Science Lab in Kalina.

The Marine Drive police have sent the viscera and blood samples of Alexander Andreyanov, the Russian flight attendant who committed suicide at the Trident Hotel on Monday,to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina. The police have also sent the blood samples of Maria Gordeeva,Natalia Shekhavtsova and Sergey Voronkov,Andreanov’s crew members who witnessed the incident, for forensic testing.

Assistant police inspector Pradeep Khude of the Marine Drive police station said though the police were certain that it was a case of suicide, they were yet to ascertain the motive. “We have sent the blood samples to the lab to verify whether Andreyanov or any of the others had consumed alcohol or drugs. There are assumptions that Andreyanov might have taken the step under the influence of alcohol and the forensic report might provide some clues. Gordeeva,Shekhavtsova and Voronkov were all in room No. 1603 when Andreyanov whizzed past them and jumped out of the window. As we have recorded the statements of the three eye-witnesses in the case,it is imperative to test whether they were under the influence of liquor or drugs,” said Khude.
