Sachin,Agatha make the cut in Manmohan’s Cabinet

Sachin Pilot and Agatha Sangma are the new entrants from the youth brigade to make it to the Union Council of Ministers of the UPA Govt.

Sachin Pilot and Agatha Sangma are the new entrants from the youth brigade to make it to the Union Council of Ministers being expanded on Thursday. Milind Deora and Navin Jindal, other members of the brigade, however, failed to make it. Milind, elected from South Mumbai, lost out apparently because his father Murli Deora has been retained as Cabinet minister.

The other members of the brigade,Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasada, have retained their berths in the Council of Ministers.

Meenakshi Natarajan and Manika Tagore, both first-timers elected from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh and Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu, respectively, also failed to earn a berth though there was heavy media speculation that the two youngsters, handpicked by Rahul Gandhi, could be given a job in the ministry.

Agatha Sangma, daughter of former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma,is one of the youngest members of Parliament who has been picked for the ministerial job.
