Sachin said that, ‘whatever happened is bigger than any cricket tour or any other sports event'.

"I have been subjected to such questions for long now. Let everyone wait till I have something to say on the matter," said Tendulkar.

Cancellation of the Pakistan tour allows the Indian cricketers to have more rest before they tour New Zealand and Tendulkar was optimistic that the team would continue to do well on the other side of the break.

"For the next month and a half, we would be free of international engagements. There would be domestic ties and then getting together in time to prepare for the tour to New Zealand. Hopefully, our good form would continue next year," he added.

India will tour New Zealand in March-April 2009 for a tour comprising two Tests and five one-day internationals.

Wishing everyone happiness on the eve of New Year, Tendulkar expressed hopes that the Almighty’s blessing would be on India in 2009.

DOES THE GOVT NEED AN ENDORSEMENT ??By: Aniyan | 25-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward ITS NOT A BIG THING !. NO CRICKET, NO CRICKET. SACHIN AND OTHERS ARE MAKING MONEY WHILE THE POOR SPEND THEIR MONEY TO SEE THEIR MATCH. ONE DEFEATS THE OTHER TODAY AND THE OTHER DEFEATS THE ONE TOMORROW. THEY PLAY, WIN, DEFEATS, ACCUMMULATING THEIR BANK ACCOUNT. THE COMMON MAN MONITORING THE RUNS, FOR USE !! AND THE COUNTRY LOSS ENORMOUS WORKING HOURS FOR NOBODY'S PURPOSE !!! LET IT BE A TOURNAMENT ONCE A YEAR; NOT AT EVERY WINTER, SUMMER AND RAIN !!
