Sacked NCW member Nirmala Venkatesh joins BJP

    Venkatesh said she was ready to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections if she was given a ticket.

    Sacked member of National Commission for Women Nirmala Venkatesh, whose position on the recent Mangalore pub attack had stirred up a big controversy, joined the BJP.

    A former member of State Legislative Council, Venkatesh resigned from the Congress on February 28, saying she was ‘deeply hurt’ after being removed from the post.

    It was a low-key entry for her as no top state BJP leader was present when she joined the party at its office.

    Venkatesh said she was ready to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections if she was given a ticket.

    She also indicated that there was pressure on her to give an ‘anti-Karnataka Government’ report during her probe as NCW member into the Mangalore pub incident, which had evoked a national outrage as some women were attacked by Sri Ram Sene men under ‘moral policing’.

    Venkatesh termed rejection of her interim report on the attack and her removal as a ‘deep political conspiracy’.

    "This is a deep political conspiracy against me to tarnish my image. I am being made a political victim. I am deeply hurt and shocked", she had said on rejection of her report and sacking.

    "I am shocked that certain people, whom I do not want to mention, have personal dislike for my honest work and clean image and are out to settle their personal scores against me in this manner," she added.

    She is really beautifullBy: Indian First | 16-Sep-2009 Reply | Forward Nirmala is really gorgeous and beautiful and she can be replaced with Shushma Suwaraj to entertain the new line of BJP leaders such as Arun jately, Venkayya naidu and even Modi as Sushma was entertaining Vajpayee, Advani and rajnath singh.They always have some entertainers in the party to play with them.

They were asking for an anti Karnatak report from Nirmala Venkatesh who flatly refused to tow UPA line. She had to pay a price for it. But I am glad she did'nt bend before the congress. Congress has this bad habit of either removing its stoneblcoks undemocratically or buying voters, mediamen and others who can be bought. On top of it it often accuses BJP of all wrongdoings through its many friends in the media, which, too, is very anti BJP biased.

Yeddyurappa and BJP have managed to turn her and made her to give such a statement. Every body has their right to have their own opinions and in that way her opinion can not be questioned. But her own “new” leader Mr. Advaani ji has condemned this incident. I do not understand her stand which has given the message of the mistake of women attending the pubs due to “lack of sufficient security”. I am failing to understand her mind on this point. Ultimately, a thing or act or place of visit, not suitable for women, can not be suitable to men also or vice versa. Both men and women are equal in public society.

They face a misery and some commit suicide also. But in political service in political parties employees sacked by one party is considered as an asset to another party and welcome with garlands and with greater respect. This is the difference. See how Bangarappa changed parties and many people like him. This is why poverty and corruption is increasing at an alarming rate and cost of living is increasing.
