Sacked Rajasthan minister tells CBI he knew Bhanwari

In the last two months,Maderna has repeatedly denied any relationship with Devi.

On the day that sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna reportedly admitted to a relationship with missing auxiliary nurse midwife Bhanwari Devi,a local TV channel aired clips of the alleged video showing him in a compromising position with Devi.

During the first round of questioning by the CBI in Jodhpur today,Maderna reportedly admitted that he had had a relationship with Devi in the past,but claimed he had nothing to do with her abduction.

At first,he was not cooperating. He was then shown records of call details and statements of witnesses, said a CBI official. Maderna reportedly broke down and confessed that he even financed her at times.

In the last two months,Maderna has repeatedly denied any relationship with Devi. Just hours after Madernas reported confession,a local TV channel,P7,began airing clips from the alleged CD,with many scenes blurred out. The CBI is set to question Maderna tomorrow as well.
