Sacred Heart score easy win over Vivek High

Buoyed by a spirited performance by their spikers, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26 scored an easy 22-9 win over Vivek High School in a match of the St Kabir Basketball Trophy played on Tuesday.

For the winning team, Reet and Aakriti were the main scorers. The duo scored six points each to guide Sacred Heart School to an easy win. The Sacred Heart defenders did not give many chances to the opposition to score. Their fine display saw the opposition scoring just nine points in the match.

In another match of the day, St Xavier's School, Sector 45 scored a 30-20 win over Strawberry World School. Their players Manjyot and Komal scored ten points each to set the easy win.

In the last match in the girls' category, Little Flower School lost to Sacred Heart School. In the boys' category, St Stephen's School, Togan scored a 44-14 win over Saupin's School, Sector 32 in an one-sided encounter. Ravneet was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 17 points while Kailash scored seven points.

In another match in the same category, St Joseph School scored a 22-14 win over St Stephen's School.

Jaskaran scored six points while Rohan scored five points for the winning team. In the last match of the day, New Public School scored a narrow 25-23 win over Little Flower School. Anil scored 12 points for the winning team while Parvesh scored nine points to set up the narrow win.

In the St Kabir Football trophy, hosts St Kabir School stormed into the final with a 2-0 win through extra time over St Stephen's School. In the other semi-final, St Xavier's School scored a 2-0 win over Saupin's School, Sector 32.
