Sahara India Pariwar has dedicated four in education,sports,health and insurance for Puneites. Group chairman Subrata Roy announced the schemes at the logo unveiling ceremony of Sahara¿s IPL Pune Franchise on Tuesday. Nine mobile healthcare unit (MHU) vans,aimed at extending public health services to rural areas and urban slums, were flagged off by Deccan Gymkhana governing body chairman and Maharashtra Cricket Association member Abhay Apte and Sahara India Pariwar deputy director O P Dixit on the occasion. These vans,which will include a qualified doctor and primary health equipment,will cover 72 villages of six blocks Wadgaon,Velhe,Rajgurunagar,Sasvad,Mulshi and Maval besides the urban slums on a regular basis. The individual accident cover insurance scheme will cover the 17.07 lakh voters in Pune Lok Sabha constituency. Sahara will provide Rs 1 lakh as financial assistance to the nominee of the deceaseds family in case of a road accidental death under the scheme. The bereaved family can avail itself of the amount within 45 days of the accident. Under the budding sportsperson scholarship scheme,Rs 5,000 will be provided a month to sportspersons playing at the state level,Rs 10,000 at the national level and Rs 20,000 at the international level. The sportspersons should send their application after validation from their respective sports authorities. The scholarship scheme for meritorious students of low income group will provide financial assistance to 300 students at the graduation level in the district,wherein each of them will be provided Rs 750 a month as scholarship. At the post-graduation level,200 students will be provided a monthly scholarship of Rs 1,500. The application forms for all schemes can be obtained from www.saharawelfarefoundation.com.
