The condition of Sathya Sai Baba,undergoing treatment for over three weeks at a super speciality hospital,continues to be critical.
The condition of liver and intermittent episodes of low blood pressure are still causing anxiety to the doctors,a medical bulletin of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences issued in the evening said.
The panel of treating doctors has been reinforced with the joining of another team of doctors from Andhra Pradesh government under the guidance of Director of Medical Education and eminent nephrologist Dr Ravi Raj.
Dr Yegyaraman from the US,who is an electrophysiology specialist,also jointed the team of doctors.
The panel of doctors are working hard on his treatment and keeping round-the-clock watch on Saibaba’s health condition,it said.
86-year-old Saibaba was hospitalised on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration.
As the condition of Sathya Sai Baba continues to be critical,the Andhra Pradesh Police has been taking all precautionary measures towards maintaining security at Puttaparthi town.
Referring to the latest medical bulletin on Sai Baba’s health,Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao said,”We are taking all precautionary measures on security aspect and,if necessary,additional forces would be deployed in Puttaparthi.”
After a meeting with senior police officials in Kurnool district,the state police chief told reporters that at present,only about 300 additional police personnel were deployed there.
Meanwhile,Anantapur District Collector B Janardhan Reddy and Superintendent of Police Syed Shahnawaz Qasim reviewed the situation this evening and also discussed on Sai Baba’s health condition with doctors.
“Doctors attending on Sai Baba have expressed their concern over his fluctuating blood pressure and he may be dialysed again tomorrow morning,” the Collector told PTI over phone.
“We have to be prepared with regard to maintaining necessary security as in the name of devotees anybody can throng to Puttaparthi to create trouble,” Reddy said.
On April 4,people tried to gatecrash into the super speciality hospital. Besides,the Collector’s car was stoned by an angry mob when he was entering the hospital.
