Saina Nehwal had her revenge when she thumped qualifier Xuerui Li,her Asian Championship nemesis,21-17 21-14 at the Singapore Super Series, two months after the Chinese had beaten her on Indian soil.

I was nervous to start out because Id lost to her,but I had the flow, and I read her game well today, said the World No 6,who reached the semis, where she runs into another Chinese former World Champion Lu Lan.

I controlled the rallies today, since I knew shes an attacking player. Her back hand fell weak, and she wasnt very good at the net, said the Indian 20-year-old,who was outsmarted by the new Chinese girl then.

Having played her before helped considerably, and I knew Id tired her out with long rallies after the first set, the top-seed added.

IN the mens section,P Kashyap made his first semi-finals of a Super Series with a comfortable 21-17 21-16 win over compatriot Aravind Bhat, and next runs into Indonesian Sony Dwi Kuncoro, who evicted the top seed Lee Chong Wei.

I played a good defence today and didnt hurry up anywhere, said the World No 32,who was keen on getting the better of his senior, with the Commonwealth Games singles spot being contested in these lead-up events and the two appearing closer in rankings (Bhat is 30).

Im eyeing the individual event at the CWG,so this was an important quarterfinal, he said, adding that he was ready for Sony, not particularly tired after the last-eight clash.
