After holding three rounds of talks with the four-member Government panel on Saturday to work out a solution to the Amarnath land row, the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti said they would continue with their agitation unless the Government restores the 800 kanals of land back to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
However, both the Samiti and the Panel headed by J-K Governor's advisor, S S Bloeria, hoped to find a solution to the issue in the fourth round of talks, which will be held in a day or so.
The Government panel said the discussions had helped them reach a "broad understanding" with the Samiti's demands. In a statement, Bloeria said the issues would be redressed at the earliest, adding that the panel "shall report the outcome of the discussions to the state Government".
Sources said both the Samiti and the four-member Government panel were working hard to find an amicable solution to the present crisis.
While the Bloeria panel had reportedly suggested that the Government would "provide" land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to put up prefabricated temporary structures during the yatra, the Samiti members wanted the Government to use the word "diverted" instead of "provided" in its order.
After the second round of talks with the Government panel earlier during the day, the Samiti had told media persons that "the talks have been fruitful and progressive", adding that they were hopeful of resolving the land transfer row. Even Bloeria said that the exchange of views was held in a "very constructive and cordial atmosphere" and that "the talks were fruitful and productive".
