The UT Administration has withdrawn the charge of Director Public Instructions (Schools) from Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer Samwartak Singh Khangwal. Samwartak’s name had figured in the UT teachers’ recruitment scam but was given a clean chit by the UT police, who could not find any material evidence to prove the officer’s involvement in the scam. Even the chargesheet filed by the police is silent on Samwartak.

While UT Home-cum-Education Secretary Ram Niwas has recommended that the officer be repatriated to his parent state with immediate effect, Administrator S F Rodrigues chose to withdraw the charge of DPI (Schools) and depute some other officer in his place. The decision on Samwartak’s successor will be taken on Friday.
