Sanjay Dutt vows to work for common man

    Bollywood actor-turned-politician Sanjay Dutt has promised to work for the betterment of the people, if voted to power.

    Addressing reporters after visiting a temple here, Dutt said that he would follow the footsteps of his father Sunil Dutt.

    "Lucknow is my home, I will definitely work here. I am the son of Sunil and Nargis Dutt and I would work like my parents," said Sanjay.

    However, Dutt's nomination hinges on the Election Commission's decision to let him contest since he has been convicted to a jail term of six years in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

    The SP and Congress have at present agreed to a loose seat-sharing deal on majority of seats in Uttar Pradesh.

    In Uttar Pradesh, the SP and Congress will be facing the BSP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

    yes he can win?By: rafi | 17-Mar-2009 Reply | Forward why u people are so disturbed if sanjay goes for the elections, see the list of candidates and u will find a large number of candidates having criminal / corruption and other sharges pending in the courts and even some murderers , so why to single out him , unlike others he has shown respect and discipline after commiting a mistake . I think what disturbs u is not his fighting the elections but the party he has joined , dont worry it is his personal matter and the people will decide wether he is able or not. After all he has every right to fight elections. When people can fight being behind the bars. And yes he has chances to win. Let him prove himself.

BUT, ONCE THE ELECTIONS ARE OVER THESE CRIMINALS ARE BUSY MAKING SURE THAT THEIR CRIMINAL RECORDS ARE WIPED CLEAN AND THUS PAVING WAY FOR BEING A REGULAR POLTICIAN AND AMASSING WEALTH.
