A day after the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections, the Youth Akali Dal president and sitting MLA Bikram Singh Majithia thanked the masses for supporting the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). All set for a landslide win,Majithia said it was only due to the support extended by the common people.

On the other hand president of SAD (Delhi) Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) chief Paramjit Singh Sarna alleged large scale bungling in the SGPC elections. “We had asked for central forces and video recording of the polls. However, our demands were ignored by the Gurdwara Election Commission resulting in SAD (B) goons hijacking the polling process. Booths were cfaptured and even non-Sikhs and Sehajdharis were seen voting,” Sarna said.

Urging the courts to take suo moto notice of the violations,he said that results would have been different had the polling been free and fair.
