Saroj Suri performs at ‘baithak’

At their 167th monthly “baithak” programme,Dehradun-based vocalist Saroj Suri gave an impressive performance at the Pracheen Kala Kendra on Thursday evening. A talented artiste in the field of Hindustani music,Suri has been performing from a tender age and has occupied the top slot in major music festivals. A topper in Music (Graduate) from Panjab University,Chandigarh,Suri learnt Gharanedar gayaki from well-known masters including Madhuri Mattoo and Ustad Abdul Waheed Khan. For the recital,she chose Raga Puriya Kalyan and rendered it with great sensitivity. She wrapped up her recital with the Sufi composition,Mathe tilak laga ke.
