Satya Pal Jain rules out possibility of transferring Chandigarh to Punjab

A Day after its alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal promised the transfer of Chandigarh to Punjab in its manifesto,BJP candidate from the city Satya Pal Jain made his party stand clear categorically ruling out any such possibility.

Addressing mediapersons,Jain said,“The Akali Dal in Punjab has its own take on the issue. As far the city unit of BJP is concerned,it is not an issue.”

Meanwhile,the party got a shot in the arm after several ex-servicemen and members of the Jat community announced their support for the saffron party candidate.

Harwant Singh announced support for Jain and NDA candidates in Punjab and Haryana. Singh said IESM had decided to support Jain’s candidature as the NDA had announced the implementation of ‘One Rank One

Pension’ policy for defence personnel after coming to power.
