State Bank of India Officers Association,Himachal Pradesh,today announced its decision to proceed on a one-day token strike on January 24. Deputy General Secretary of the association Hardev Garg said if the long-pending issues remain unresolved,it will again strike work on February 14 and 15. The association today held a demonstration at the administrative office Shimla to press its demands,including pending issues of Human Resource Management Section (HRMS),provision of security in unguarded branches and non-payment of compensation for working on Sundays and holidays and beyond working hours. A protest was also registered by the association against the uncooperative attitude of the Chandigarh circle of SBI management. The association demanded a transparent transfer policy. Garg said demonstrations will continue on all Mondays and if the management doesnt pay attention,an indefinite strike will be held from the second week of March.
