Rohtagi also prayed before the bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan that a single investigating agency should carry out the probe in all cases.

At present, different state police are probing the cases registered against Jadeja and his accomplices.

The bench, however, rejected the relief sought by Jadeja, saying that the plea could not be entertained.

After realising that the court was inclined to issue any direction providing him with relief, the counsel preferred to withdraw the petition.
