SC transfers Mirchpur case to Delhi

The Supreme Court has transferred a trial relating to mayhem of Dalits allegedly by upper caste Hindus in Haryanas Hisar district to a special court in Rohini in Delhi.

To ensure a free and fair trial,the Supreme Court has transferred a trial relating to mayhem of Dalits allegedly by upper caste Hindus in Haryanas Hisar district in April to a special court in Rohini in Delhi. A Bench of Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly ordered the transfer on Wednesday to ensure that the trial is free from any fear or pressure from any quarter. The court asked the Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ),Hisar who is currently handling the case to transfer all relevant records to the Additional Sessions Judge,Rohini,dealing with offences under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act),1989.

Sources in the LJP (RV) said the names of the remaining 15 candidates would also be announced very soon.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) announced its first list of 14 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls, with its state unit chief Raju Tiwary and leader Hulas Pandey among the nominees. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, LJP (RV) will contest 29 seats, while BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each. The remaining 15 candidates will be announced soon.
