Road safety awareness at St Lawrence High School
The assembly on January 15 was based on road safety rules. It lit sparks of awareness on the dos and don'ts while driving and how to adhere to the safety rules on road. The students were enlightened as how to take strict measures and follow the traffic signals and dangers of drunk driving. It was also put in the minds of the students serious accidents occur due to use of mobile phones while driving. A strong message was conveyed on how to lend a helping hand to the victims of accidents and not to fear police action. Such efforts will be appreciated and rewarded.
Inter-school competition at Shri Maa Bal Niketan school
In the interschool competition organized by Shri Maa Bal Niketan school, Supriya Subhash Jana, student of Std. VII-A of St. Lawrence High School & Jr. College of Science and Commerce, Thane (W) excelled in fabric painting (consolation prize), rangoli (consolation prize), drawing based on the theme 'Green city. Clean city' (second prize) & a cash prize of Rs 250/- and pot painting (second prize) & a cash prize of Rs. 250/-.
She was felicitated by Chairman Sylvester D'Souza.
Science & art exhibition at Datta Meghe World Academy
Science and art exhibition at DMWA Airoli on 22nd December 2012 saw an overwhelming response. Students explored their imagination and creativity and worked with their teachers to make models, which were appreciated by the parents and other visitors. Judge Dr Sanjay Sanghvi appreciated the survey project done by 4th A and 4th B on wastage of food and water.
Sadashiv Kulkarni evaluated art section of exhibition in which students exhibited beautiful craft like table matsm, etc. The amount collected from sale was donated to an orphanage.
