Education Workshop at DPS, Mathura Road
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in association with Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, celebrated Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary 'Awakening India' on January 24, 2013. The CBSE initiative comprised 'Master trainers and peer education workshop for value education and gender sensitivity'.
The inaugural function was attended by Shri Vineet Joshi, Chairman & Secretary, CBSE, Swami Shantatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, Dr Sadhna Parashar, Director Training & Innovation CBSE, Shri Ashok Chandra, Chairman, DPS Society, Rear Admiral M M Chopra, Chairman, DPS Mathura Road, M I Hussain, Principal, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Dr Jitendra Nagpal, Programme Director of Expressions India, Sandeep Sethi, Education Officer, CBSE, principals of different schools, teachers and students.
Delivering the welcome address, M I Hussain, principal, DPS, Mathura Road, thanked CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi for selecting DPS, Mathura Road, in the endeavor to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the great saint, philosopher, spiritual leader and visionary that was Swami Vivekananda.
This pioneer initiative, undertaken on a national level, was attended by over 100 schools from across India.
St Mark's School,Meera Bagh hosts Swedish delegation
A fifteen-member student delegation from Ebba Petterssons Privatskolan, Gothenborg, Sweden, visited St Mark's Sr Sec Public School,Meera Bagh.They were accompanied by Eva Daveus, principal, Kenneth Stalnacke, Berit Andersson and Ingela Ohman.
The Swedish students, who were hosted by their counterparts from St Mark's School, got a taste of Indian lifestyle, education system and customs and traditions. During their stay in India, they visited all monuments in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Be it the mehendi on their hands or the elephant ride in Jaipur, the Swedish students, indeed, had a memorable time in India.
One of the highlights of the visit was the presence of Sara Aulin, First Secretary, Cultural and Commercial, Embassy of Sweden who, during the formal exchange of mementos, emphasised on the power that the students have in making the world a better place. Aulin also appreciated the work done by the two schools in bringing the countries closer.
