Painting exhibition inaugurated at The Indian School
On February 4, The Indian School inaugurated an exhibition of colourful paintings on the exploits of Maharana Pratap of Udaipur in the 16th Centuary. The 24th descendant of the house of Mewar, Maharana Arvind Singhji inaugurated the exhibition. The paintings were made by the artists of Udaipur and specially commissioned by the Prafull Foundation. It is directed by Francois Gautier, who is developing a museum of Indian Heroes in Pune.
Prior to the ceremonial inauguration, a panel comprising of our Chairman Prafull Goradia, His Highness Maharana Arvind Singhji, French journalist Francois Gautier and our Director Lal Raisinghani addressed the gathering.
The director of the school, Lal Raisinghani, proposed the vote of thanks. He commended the Prafull Foundation for conceptualising the exhibition and taking necessary steps in reviving the glorious past of Mewar.The exhibition is open to the public until February 23.
St Mary's School in Dwarka celebrates annual day
St Mary's School, Dwarka, celebrated its annual Day with great gusto and exhilaration. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr Biswajit Saha, Programme Officer Vocational Cell, CBSE. The occasion was also graced by Sumesh Shokeen, MLA, Matiala.
The function commenced with lighting the auspicious lamp and was followed by the invocation dance on "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam".
The programme included a delightful assortment of diverse cultural performances, offering the audience an enjoyable, visual treat. Some of these included a display with dumb bells and lazium, artistic yoga, a breath taking band performance, scintillating dance performances and mellifluous music. Sheelu Mathew, the school Principal, presented the annual school report, giving an insight into the school activities.
As the darkness descended, the students of classes IX and X lit up the sky with an enchanting torch drill, a wonderful end to the evening.
