LIS celebrates annual fiesta

On February 16, Leo International School (LIS), Kalher, organised its annual fiesta, 'Leo Triumph', to mark successful completion of the second academic year.

'Bollywood Dreams' was the theme of the event in which students exhibited their talent.

The event depicted past and present of the Hindi film industry and its influence on society.

Ronak Ali Akbar, deputy general manager, The Indian Express; Manish Doshi, manager, Cambridge University Press; Bipin Pote, secretary, Dattakrupa Education Society; Anand Karwa,industrialist; Piyush Sen, member of Young Giants Group Bhiwandi, choreographer and director of Piyush Dance Academy; Balkrishna Patil, sarpanch, Kalher, and Rajesh Shandilya of Cambridge University Press were the guests of honour.

Entire staff of LIS — Nilam Patil, school head; Sandhya Shetty, project head; Pratima Gupte, managing director; Mahesh Jain, managing trustee; Vikas Jain, secretary, and Manoj Jain, president, Jainum Inter-Education Organization Trust, contributed equally to the success of 'Leo Triumph'.

DAV School gets its moment of pride

DAV Public School, Thane, has once again created a niche among the educational institutions in Thane and Mumbai. The initiatives undertaken by the school have been recognised and appreciated by competent authorities from time to time.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the school for its active participation and commendable performance in the Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge 2012.

The school is acclaimed for the amenities it provides to students in terms of sanitation, health checkups and medical facilities, in addition to academics.

In recognition of the above, an Award of Excellence was presented to the school for meeting the best standards to be the winner — Mumbai — in the Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India Challenge 2012.

St Lawrence and Jr college joins scouts, guides camp

A District Scouts & Guides rally was organised by the Bharat Scout and Guide District Office, Thane on February 1, 2 and at ASP Convent School , Plot No.8, Sector 9, Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai .
