  • With Sunday being celebrated as Mother’s Day all over the world, city schools have left no stone unturned in observing the significance of the day.

British School, Chandigarh: Friday seemed to be a day out for students as well as their mothers. Psychologist and career planner Rajshri Sarda was the chief guest on the occasion. The tiny tots sang songs and recited poems, including a French rhyme, in praise of their mothers. It was a turning back into time as mothers participated in activities like the marble game, backward counting and musical chairs. Prizes and trophies were given to the winners.

St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44: Various competitions were organised to celebrate Mother’s Day at the school. The tiny tots made special cards while students of Class I recited poems for their mothers. A drawing and creative writing competition was also organised for students of the primary section on the theme ‘Mothers — the greatest creation of God.’
