Soh-Koh brings in bridal line-ups by designers Soumitra Mondal, Preeti Jhawar & Hemant-Nandita

This one’s pretty well-timed. With the wedding season all set to kick off, Soh-Koh, the multi-designer fashion store in Sector 26 has got on its shelves bridal collections by three designers — Soumitra Mondal, Preeti Jhawar and Hemant-Nandita. With outings at various fashion weeks, the designers are pretty well-known and offer collections that team contemporary styles with Indian embellishments and quintessential ethnic charm. “With the wedding season now approaching, we decided to showcase collections to match the mood,” informed Soh-Koh’s Aarshi Gupta as she got the collection out for all to see. “Soumitra Mondal is known for his traditional work in bridal wear. The designer is inspired by Indian art, culture and textile,” explained Gupta, as one saw ethnic colours dominate. “The designer relies on fine hand crafts by skilled artisans on rich traditional silk. Apart from regular red and blue, green and pink are the ruling colours,” she added.

Also forming a part of the “bridal specials” at the store are lines by designers Preeti Jhawar and Hemant-Nandita. “These designers are popular with young, fashion enthusiasts, and fashion-conscious people. Moreover, everyone focuses on bridal wear but misses out on the fact that the bride’s relatives too are looking to dress special. That’s where designers like Hemant and Nandita step in,” adds on Gupta. The Hemant-Nandita line-up brings in a mix of Indo-western style translated into suits and sarees. Having dressed Bollywood stars like Ameesha Patel, Raveena Tandon, Raima Sen early in their career, the duo’s designs are universally appealing. In their latest collection, that’s available at Soh-Koh, the two have worked specifically with a touch of the rich north-Indian culture.
