The second list carries some hope for aspirants who did not make the first cut-offs at Delhi University.
However, they may not make it to North Campus colleges, where seats have almost filled up. Most colleges with open seats have dropped their cut-off percentages by 0.5 to 5 per cent. OBC cut-offs have also dipped. Most South Campus colleges and off campus colleges, however, still have seats left in many courses, including BCom Programme and BCom (Hons), in the second cut-off list.
Among campus colleges, the Sri Ram College of Commerce has seats left in BCom (Hons); Hindu College has seats left in Economics (Hons); while Daulat Ram College has seats left in BCom Programme, BSc Mathematics, Zoology and English among others. SRCC has reduced its cut-off for BCom (Hons) from 98.75 to 94.75 per cent.
Swami Shraddhanand College has seats open in all courses, while Zakir Husain College in Central Delhi also has seats open in English (Hons) and BCom (Hons).
According to Shraddhanand College principal SS Rathi, it is a trend seen every year wherein off campus colleges conduct most of their admissions in the second list.
Except for SRCC, almost every other college has seen a poor show as far as OBC candidates are concerned, with the seats for the reserved category remaining empty.
Zakir Husain College has given a two per cent relaxation for women candidates opting for BCom (Hons) to bridge the gender gap .
Interestingly, Science stream admissions have seen an overwhelming response in campus colleges, where institutes have taken in double and triple the number of students the seats would allow.
