Security agency to pay up Rs 1 lakh for misappropriation of PF

  • President of Consumer Forum Jagroop Singh Mahal in the order said, "These cases demonstrate as to how provident fund subscriptions of low paid employees are misappropriated by their employers in connivance with Provident Fund authorities."

    The forum has directed the security agency to immediately deposit with the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Karnal, Haryana, the entire subscription along with an equal amount as their own share along with interest right from the date of joining of the complainants in 2001 or 2002 till they were in service.

    The Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Karnal, Haryana has been directed to decide on the proceedings initiated against the security agency within thirty days without taking into consideration the compensation awarded in the present case.

    The security agency has also been directed to intimate to the complainants the details of monthly contribution, total accumulations in the account along with the year-wise amount of interest, with a closing balance as required under Rule 73 of the Scheme.
