Restrictions have been imposed on darshan at the makeshift temple at Ayodhya as part of security measures ahead of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary. From Thursday, not more than two persons will be allowed to enter the Ram Janambhoomi campus at a time and they will be accompanied by two security personnel. Darshan will be allowed from a distance of 200 metres. The restriction will continue for a week. The district administration has denied the Vishwa Hindu Parishad permission to hold a shila pujan at the spot. It has also decided not to allow any procession in the town. City magistrate (Ayodhya) Alok Singh said the administration and the district police have chalked out a security plan. Since Ayodhya and the Ram Janambhoomi campus are sensitive,Section 144 is imposed round the year, Singh said. But for the next six days,we will be extra vigilant. The strength of security forces deployed around the campus has been doubled and senior officials are keeping a watch round the clock. We are asking the people and have approached the akhadas to cooperate, he said. Senior Superintendent of Police RKS Rathore said: We are getting additional troops from the Rapid Action Force and Provincial armed Constabulary. Since the structure is under Supreme Courts jurisdiction, the Central Reserve Police Force is deployed and from tomorrow, extra companies will be deployed.
